This innovative approach integrates casings made with plastic polymers in the new circular economy model, by reducing the amount of fossil resources required in the manufacture of new products and also reducing the waste generated.
  • Description
    • They are mono- or multilayer casings made with a proportion of renewable primary raw materials having biological origin. An alternative to conventional 100% fossil-based plastic casings. Parts of the fossil-based resins are replaced by resins attributed to, e.g. by-products of the food or the paper industry. A percentage of the composition of the casing is of biological origin. Depending on the used polymers the carbon content can be quantifi ed or is attributed to the plastic input through the Mass Balance method, certifi ed by ISCC*. Has unique potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the carbon footprint of casings.
